Chase, BC at a Glance
Located east of Kamloops in British
Columbia's interior, the village of Chase attracts visitors with its interesting
history, hot climate and abundance of outdoor adventures. Local First Nations
culture is sustained by the nearby Neskonlith, Adams Lake and Little Shuswap Nations.
Learn their stories as well as the history of the first European settlers in the
area at the Chase
& District Museum & Archives. Alternately, experience a small taste of First
Nations culture by staying in a tepee at the Quaaout Resort and Conference Centre,
which also features First Nations interpretive displays. Outdoor activities including
swimming, boating, waterskiing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, horseback
riding and more are a huge draw in Chase due to its proximately to Little Shuswap
Lake and several national parks such as Niskonlith
Lake Provincial Park, which features rustic sites for those who enjoy camping.
Every four years thousands of visitors flock to the Roderick
Haig-Brown Provincial Park to celebrate the Salute
to the Sockeye festival and witness the mass Salmon
Spawn which occurs in the Adams
River.
